Exploring Tunnels and New Investigators! September 2, 2018

This will be a quick email today, but don't worry because I included pictures! I'll share a quick miracle with you that happened this week: On Saturday night, my companion and I went to a bookstore in the mall (there is a big mall next to our apartment). I talked to a guy named Anh Thuận, and I invited him to our free English activity on Wednesday nights. I also invited him to come to sacrament meeting the very next day, and he came! He has free time on Sundays, so he stayed for the Gospel Principles class afterwards, we met with him for a lesson afterwards, and he is now a new investigator! Heavenly Father truly is preparing His children to accept and learn about the Restored Gospel!

I would strongly recommend a talk for you to read when you have time. It's called "His Grace is Sufficient" by Brad Wilcox. It's a talk that he gave at BYU. Read it and let me know what you think.  The Lord's Grace is sufficient for all of us (read the talk).

Hi Mom!

Sorry that I wasn't able to IM with you today. I've got a really awesome companion Elder Partridge (Anh Cả Kiên)! I sent some pictures, so I hope you look them.

I'll have to email you more next week about details. The mission office secretary should be sending you an email soon with details and stuff about my release. Let me know by next week if you got it, and I hope you can get over your sickness soon and feel healthier! Please tell the papa that I really appreciate the long email that he sent.

Oh also to answer your question, I didn't do anything particularly special for my birthday [21 yrs old now!], but it was still really awesome to have a baptism on that day, and that is the day we got transfer call,s too!

I was reading a talk by Elder Holland called, "Be ye therefore perfect, eventually." I really love this message from it: On the path back to God we may go along the path clumsily and staggering from side to side because of our sins and mistakes. But what's important is that we keep going on that path back to God with the hope that one day we will be back into the safe embrace of heavenly parents. From such a perfect moment like that, we must keep going and we can't give up! We also should not beat ourselves up for not living up to being this perfect saint all the time. You should read the talk if you get the chance.

Oh Mom, another thing that I think would be good to talk about is what I will do when I get back home. I don't start school until January, and I need something to keep me engaged until then.

July 15, 2018: Short but Sweet this Week

Hello Everyone! Xin Chào Mọi Người!

Sorry that this is not a long email this week, but there are a couple of pictures!

Here are just a couple of miracles that happened: The person we have been teaching about the church, Anh Quang, passed his baptismal interview this past Saturday, and has his baptismal date for July 28, 2018! My companion and I got to visit my family this past Sunday, and we invited them to come to Sacrament Meeting on Sunday (the church building is about a 10-15 minute bike ride from their house). My cousin will be coming to church next Sunday!
