English Blitz!

Hello Everyone! I hope you all had a great Easter! I am so excited for this group email, because I have so many great experiences to tell about! My companion and I are currently experiencing a lot of success in our Area. We currently have 1 Investigator with a Baptismal Date, 3 Progressing Investigators, and 3 New Investigators! I am also currently the teacher for our Beginning English Class that we teach once a week. Things are going really well, and it's getting super hot here!

Our Investigator with a Baptismal Date is named Em Doan. She has been progressing really well, and is scheduled to be baptized on Sunday April 23. But, she is 17 and needs her parents permission to be baptized, and her parents do not want her to be baptized. We are sad, but we continue to pray for her. One thing that is really cool about her, is that she only likes to speak English with us! Her English is pretty much as good as a native English speaker, and it's really interesting, because when we have Lessons with her we speak Vietnamese, and she always answers back an English! We also gained a New Investigator this week, Chi Trang. When we first met her, she said that she had felt something special when we had shared our message, and that she was curious to know more because of that special feeling inside. She is definitely experiencing the Holy Ghost!

I had one really cool experience that I would like to share about from this week: For our free English Class, we do an English Blitz on Saturday. An English Blitz is basically where you go into a very populated area like a mall, and you hand out as many English cards as you possibly can and invite as many people as you possibly can to English Class. I have done two English Blitzes since I have been in Vietnam, and they are a lot of fun! On Saturday, we did an English Blitz at this huge mall in District 2 of Saigon called the Vincom Mega Mall. This is the same mall where I went ice skating. The ice skating rink is on the top floor of the mall. The mall is absolutely amazing, and there are a lot of people in the mall who speak some English. Saturday was really fun, because we just got to handout English cards and talk to a lot of people. It was also really great practice for my Vietnamese! Plus, they had a big ice skating show while we were there, and I got to film it!

Testimony Time:
This week we had a Lesson with the New Investigator we got, Chi Trang. We had just planned on focusing on her and doing How to Begin Teaching with her, but she invited someone to come with her,and this person dominated the conversation. The situation got way out of hand, and the focus was taken completely off of Chi Trang. My companion kept nudging me to take control of the situation, but I didn't know what to say, and I was just scared to be honest. After about 15 minutes, I finally got the courage to say something, and then my companion was able to step in and take care of the rest. From this Lesson, I learned some very important lessons about Faith and about the Atonement of Jesus Christ. The Lord is constantly giving us nudges and promptings.Even if it is hard for us, we must act in faith and do what the Lord is prompting us to do. When we show our faith by acting on those promptings, then that's when the Atonement can come in, and when Christ can take away our imperfections!

I love and miss you all, and I hope that you all had a great Easter!

Sorry I can't send any pictures this week, because my SD card is not working. Hopefully there will be pictures next week though!
